MiFi is becoming a must have for mobile professionals on the move , introduced by Verizon Wireless USA , MiFI is a small standalone device which act as Wireless Hotspots using the existing cellular network

but why buy an additional device with a data plan when your existing Nokia E71x , Nokia Surge , N97 or even 5800 Xpress Music or any other S60v3 or S60 v5 phone can be converted into a WiFi hotspot with the help of a  free software

Joiku Spot  had been around for years converting  S60v3 and v5  phones  into a WiFi hotspot ,available for free in the Lite version with no support for VPN or security or with all the bells and whistles the Premium version is available for Euro 15 ( down from Euro 25 )

Just download or send the link to your phone by SMS to download it directly on your phone from http://www.joiku.com/

Usage is very simple , after installation , start the Joiku ( I’m using Lite version ) choose the Network you’d like to use , if you’r phone is authorized to access WiFi you can even choose that for others not authorized to use it or use your Cellular company’s data connection .  Once set , just search for WiFi on the device you’d like to connect and select Joiku and you’ll be all set .

On the phone you can see how many devices are connected , who is connected and the data being used to keep track of the data usage .

The pictures below explain it all
