Does N900 Also Suffers From Memory Problems ?

by Farhan on September 20, 2009

Just saw this picture at  http://www.nokia-n900.org/browser/maemo5-exclusive-screenshots-on-nokia-n900-andgtandgtandgt/

where they have posted exclusive pics of Nokia N900 and this one pic there raises my concerns

maemo memory

Memory for Installable Applications 18.9 MB ,  I understand it’s a prototype and all but still what happened to the 1GB of memory where is that ? if not 1GB atleast on proto there could be a couple of 100MB of memory .

Can anyone from Nokia explain ???

Cause I’m afraid , very afraid

I won’t be surprised if n900 comes out with a less memory. Nokia already did in its flagship Nseries device. After only 4 month of its sales launched a miniature version just to remove its memory related problems (they could have done the same with a better memory optimiser or a firmware upgrade).

I say get ready for n900 mini too.

i read in another website that the memory is gonna be 60 something MB AND in the next firmware UPDATE is inma be 1 GB

If we see the bar, it is obvious that the 18.9 mb are the free memory, and there is a littlñe space at the end of this bar. In dark grey. The bar is almost full. ¿1Gb? Maybe not, but not only 20 Mb os free memory to install aps.

I’ve been hearing that the less amount of memory is due to PR Firmware and Nokia’s production Firmware will have 1GB memory , let’s keep our fingers crossed
