by Farhan on June 4, 2009

Yesterday Bing banged Google with Mobile Bing and today Google is all set to bang Bing with Google Mobile Application available at m.google.com ( S60 only)

While Bing is to be accessed from the web as a search engine , Google Mobile App can be installed on the phone and provides one click access to all Google mobile services as

  • Gmail
  • Google Maps
  • YouTube
  • Mobile Notes
  • Goog-411
  • Google News
  • Google local Search
  • Orkut
  • Blogger
  • Google Notes  Mobile
  • Google Reader
  • Google Calendar  .

If that’s not enough it also offers  customized search as per user’s location and also offers search suggestions in a drop down menu however it uses the default Nokia browser :(

What In like about Google Mobile Applications is that it offers a complete suite of applications with one click access and also offers a shortcut right on the standy screen i.e by pressing the back button , I can instantly access the services menu .

The dominance of the 4th Screen , the mobile phone , is the next battle front for the giants be it Apple with OS 3.0 , Nokia with it’s OVI services , Microsoft with it’s Bing and Google with it’s Mobile App with Black Berry also serving the niche . It all depends upon who offers the most usability and ease of use for the consumers to stick with .

Who benefits from this competition we the users :)   , getting the best of services all have to offer for free or at a nominal price as it’s said competition brings out the best in products so enjoy while it lasts and pray the battle keeps on going and we all keep on enjoying

i am using both Bing and Google and i think both search engines give relevant search results. i would still prefer Google though, because it gives a little bit more relevant search results than Bing.

BING search engine is just as good as Google. In my own personal experience, Google does give more releveant search result than Bing but the difference is very small. **

@ Carmen , Bing is picking up fast and may give a tough time to Google in future

i think that Bing is not as good as Google. Google would still index new websites faster than Bing. Microsoft would still need a lot of catching to do with GoogleBot.

I use both Bing and Google search engine and i dont see much difference in their search results. I use google for searching hard to find academic topics and Bing for general search.

I use Bing and Google whenever i want to find something on the internet. I think that both search engines are very good. |
