Nokia N900 is full of little gems thanks to it’s open source nature and a growing developer community . Although much of the applications are available in the Untested Maemo Repository but still it never stops us from playing with them .
One of the smaller gems with a much bigger value is gTranslate
gTranslate is simple to use , just enter the words , sentence in any of the 53 languages choose the target language source and target language and click translate making a total of 2,809 translation possibilities.
You can Paste the text from any source and copy it and enter it any Web Browser , Email Client or Text Editor . The translation is done on word base i.e it will not understand slangs neither broken words , ZIP CODE will be translated as Zip as in Zipper and Code as in Code but ZIPCODE could be translated as ZIPCODE . The application uses net connection to connect to Google Servers for translation .
Supported languages include
