It’s been 7 days I’ve been hooked to my iPhone and I’d been having second thoughts about giving it to my wife 
There are many things I found iPhone better then Nokia and it’s not only me , in the latest Gartner’s Survey for worldwide Smartphone sales , iPhone captured 10.7 % of the market growing at 111 % while Nokia fell to 40.8 % from 50.9 % market share with a 16 % drop in sales so what is Apple doing which Nokia isn’t .
So how Apple with it’s only iPhone is able to kick Nokia’s Butt
The North American Market : Nokia is a very small player in the world’s largest Smart Phone Market the US and Canada and Apple and RIM rules over here
forget market how about Applications , the Apps I found for iPhone were unmatchable on any Nokia I’ve owned . Thanks to it’s American heritage , Apple enjoys a much better Apps Developer Community ready to take their piece of pie of this lucrative market . Be it medical apps or just Sudoku everything is available for Apple . In 20 min of owning it , I had about 25 Apps installed or under installation on the iPhone
The interface The sleek movement of icons to the pop ups on spring board to the intuitive SMS display Apple has set standard how a true GUI representation of a smart phone should be while Nokia is still stuck with it’s E61esq type menus which are also present on Nokia 5800 Xpress Music .
iTunes although not as user friendly as PC Suite ( it took me 2 days to figure out that because of my Skining of XP into Win 7 , iTunes is not syncing my contacts with the phone ) nonetheless once it’s made to work does it’s job beautifully ,be it syncing of movies or music or installation of Apps and there it beats Nokia , If I’ve uninstalled an App by mistake worry not , iTunes will restore it in a jiffy although ‘biased towards Apple’ it also removed all my hacked applications which I had to install through iTunes .
iPhone or iPod if I call the iPhone a truly entertainment based mobile communication device I won’t be wrong , from the speakers with sound to die for ( Nokia learn from it the 5800 Xpress Music Speakers sucks , try better on N97 , atleast try the quality of N95-8GB speakers ) to the rich colors on the screen , iPhone was even hooked to my car’s FM transmitter ( same as I hooked my E71 and Nokia 5800 Xpress Music to my car stereo ) , it’s iPod interface makes it a true mediacentric device or entertainment system in my pocket .
Camera , if the simple camera on iPhone without flash can take beautiful pics , Nokia you should be ashamed of yourself , E71 even after f/ware update take purplish pics , i don’t want bruised pics I want vivid colors like that on iPhone .
These are a few things which made me fall in love with iPhone , again it’s a beauty but it comes with a price which I will discuss in my next post .
for now , I’m done with the iPhone and given it to my wife for whom I originally got it as a wedding anniversary present , 8GB for 8th Anniversary
