Jail Break iPhone 3.0.1 Firmware

Apple a few days ago has released iPhone Firmware 3.0.1 to patch the exploit which allows a hacker to access the phone data via SMS.

As always the main concern with any firmware update is whether it will be hack able and here comes REDSn0W to the rescue , as Apple hadn’t changed the base band of the Firmware i.e. it remains same as 3.0 REDSN0W 0.8 works on it .

and simply follow the instructions to jail break your phone . ( Takes between 7-10 min)

For those who already had jailbroken their iPhone 3G 3.0 OS need not to Jailbreak again but if you want to install Cydia than REDSN0W is a must .

To run RedSn0W you need to have the old 3.0 FW IPSW also available as it will not recognize the newer 3.0.1 Firmware IPSW

After running RedSn0W , go to Cydia and add http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com/ repo to install ultrasn0W 0.9 the final step in jailbroken iPhone .

For those unable to download the new iPhone Firmware 3.0.1 through Itunes due to “ Network Connection Time Out “ can download the official Firmware / IPSW from here
