So Nokia has launched their N97 flagship worldwide , It’s a big hit in China where I’m at now with lines at the Nokia store for people using it , even in Pakistan I’m getting reports that people are paying upwards of 1000 Dollars for the phone although the official price is somewhat around 700 dollars with a leather pouch , TV Cable out ( not supplied as standard ) and a premium bluetooth headset but is the phone worth all that .
I don’t think so , the main problem with the phone is it’s user flash memory which is around 40mb . I checked it out on the Phone I reviewed earlier , a phone with Nokia executives at N97 launch even with the phone in Nokia China store . So why this is the problem , try upgrading the contacts on OVI and N-Ggage and the base memory will fall to 25mb and with a little more use down it goes to 8mb now try loading some heavy web pages and there goes the phone or even try downloading emails on it , the device may loose functionality like it did with my trial E75
Given the fact that my E71 has base memory of 110 mb and the upcoming E72 will have 256 mb what Nokia is thinking with their ‘Flagship’ phone
So Nokia what’s your stand on it ??
