Nokia E72 – The First Look

by Farhan on October 27, 2009

Yesterday at the Nokia E72 Media Launch -  Karachi , I had the chance to play with the Nokia E72 for 5 min but that was more than enough to be blown by it and clear my misconceptions

 Nokia E72

I thought the touch pad /  scroller  to cumbersome and take a lot of finger dragging to move the screen , I WAS WRONG , it was smooth , just needed a feather touch to move the curser /  screen / page where ever you use it

It was speedy , with 600MHZ processor what do you expect

Camera was good at 5 MPX , sorry don’t have any pics to justify my comment

 E72 the 5 Mp Camera

Coming to my first concern the base /  user available memory in Phone a whopping 256 mb yes Finally Nokia realized  email does not run on 50 MB , 256 MB is great to have the 3 days emails off 10 email accounts

 E72 available user memory

Setting up of Email account was a breeze , I entered my login , password and I was all set for Gmail , Yahoo , Hotmail and even my Blog email account no domain settings required

Overall I loved the first impression of the phone now can’t wait to have one for a few days for a complete overview , cause I heard I can put 14 apps shortcuts on the main menu which I was unable to try .

    Hi Farhan,

Thank you so much for replying. Does middle east – Asia share the same 3G standards. As far as my understanding on 3G goes, it is divided into different categories depending on your Geographical location. Nokia uses different 3G network (or something along the same lines :) ) in the US and a different network in Europe. Does India, Pakistan and the whole of UAE use a similar standard 3G bandwidth or is it different? The reason why I asked this question is because I travel and I use 3G. In India, 3G is just catching up. Once 3G is available with all network providers, I don’t wanna be left behind. I have been using WLAN-GPRS in India and I usually buy my mobiles from Dubai. I was able to use these 2 features without any issues. I am a bit concerned about the 3G compatibility if I buy my phone from Dubai. Please educate.

    Thank you.

@ Ricky , Europe and Asia share the same 3 G standards while in US it’s different so if you buy a phone in Dubai , you can easily use it in India , Pakistan and even in Europe
