A month ago , on 5th Sep , I got an email from Nokia Messaging that my account had been deactivated citing the reason that it was device activated and as the device ownership had been transferred
“ Dear Nokia Messaging customer,
The Nokia Messaging account you have been enjoying came as part of the purchase of your Nokia phone. According to our records, that phone has been transferred to another person.
Your Nokia Messaging account has been deactivated. Your account is safe – it cannot be accessed by the new owner of your Nokia phone. In addition, you can sign up for a new Nokia Messaging account for use on another Nokia phone. Please visit the Nokia Messaging website (http://email.nokia.com/account) to see a list of Nokia phones that run with Nokia Messaging.
We look forward to serving you again.
Sincerely,
Nokia Messaging team*** This email was generated automatically. Please do not reply to it. *** “
The problem I perceived was due to the fact that I tested Nokia Messaging on every phone I got to review from Nokia Pakistan including Nokia E75 and my account got linked to that device , after I returned the phone , it got activated by someone else and I lost my account .
I thought that it’s a no biggie I can simply cancel the account and make a new one but it was not as simple as it sounds
First You cannot cancel a Nokia Messaging Account if it’s DEACTIVATED- Fine I thought I’ll make a new account but
You cannot add any email account already active one one account to another account - Ok I’ll delete the email from the old account but
You cannot delete any account from a deactivated account neither you can make any changes to it .
Now I was in a fix , I’d been running 8 of my email accounts through Nokia Messaging including my job , personal , blog , kids accounts and Nokia Messaging was the perfect software solution for me to manage all of them outside the Blackberry realm and all without costing me a cent .
I immediately took the matter with my contacts at Nokia Pakistan , they were unable to help me
I left message on Nokia Discussions Board for assistance no use .
I email Davis Fields , who manages Nokia Messaging , no use
FInally a week ago I left a message on Nokia Messaging’s Facebook Wall ( it got deleted later on ) and send a DM and Tweet to @Nokiamessaging on Twitter and there someone listened to me and finally today got the Direct Message .
nokiamessaging: Okay, deleted your account. You should be all set.
Finally I’m back in business , had setup my new Nokia Messaging account with old login , set it up on my current 5800 Xpress Music .
The purpose of telling you all this , don’t get disheartened if you face a problem with Nokia or anyone else , a little persistence and patience always pays
and if your email does not get answered you can always contact through Twitter and Facebook
