Nokia N900 A Perfect Business Companion

by Farhan on April 24, 2010

Beside  writing about phones , I also work as a Pharmaceutical Marketing Professional, sometimes , my duties take me far and wide of Pakistan to meet clients and during my travels I found Nokia N900 to be a perfect business companion .

SlideShow on the Go .

During my travels , I had to meet a number of clients and part of my job had been to give them my company and our technologies introduction .  I can always carry a laptop or a netbook but limited battery life and less charging options always had been a hinderance.  With Slideshow on the Go , I can always start the presentation on the large screen on Nokia N900 and discuss with the client .  As many of my travels take me to rural areas , such a small ‘computer’ is a great conversation starter and ice breaker and talks about ‘tech saviness’ of my company. ( Some tweak in fonts required , the best way is to use jpgs instead of text in presentations )

Full QWERTY Keyboard .

Be it preparing proposals while on the move or typing out Minutes of the Meeting , the ful QWERTY keyboard which feels good on figures never let me down and give me thumb agony.

Always in Touch .

With N900 , I’m never out of reach of my family , friends and clients , beside the usual phone calls , I’m always using MSN to talk to my assistant and suppliers , on SKYPE with my kids and getting and sending emails wherever I am .   It’s not only voice communications , through realtime FaceBook and Twitter updates I’m also always in the loop with my friends .

Battery Life

As mentioned earlier , laptop battery  does not last more than a couple of hours but with N900 , my usage usually last till 6 plus hours of usage and with Suntrica Solar Panel Charger and in car chargers , it’s battery is always up and running by the time I reach my next client .

Amazing Camera :

There is nothing like a photograph to keep a memory and I like to keep a record  of my client’s premises photographs , chemist and medical store stock position for my office record and instead of lugging around my Olympus 590 UZ , for these snaps , I can always rely on N900’s great Carl Zeiss 5 Mp Camera and with GPS tagging , I can always refer back to the location I took these pics at.  .

Great Web Browser.

The one thing I love the most about N900 is it’s browser , Mozilla based , it acts the same way as that on the PC and beside browsing , I use it to access Google Docs where my assistant uploads presentations , proposals and letters and I download them straight to N900 for my use and upload from the same .

Tv-Out Feature saves the day .

Instead of lugging around a laptop  and a projector , for larger audience I only lug around the projector and connect the N900 to it to give presentation on the fly  and whilte travelling between station to station or waiting for my plane , I can always play a movie on it and relax .

Huge Storage space :

With 32 GB ( 27GB available ) storage , I can carry and store a number of presentations , movies and music , along with proposals and documents , nothing is left to the flash drive but all is on my N900

Fast Processor

Powered by ARM Crotex A-8 600 Mhz processor ,  I can open any size presentations ( most of mine are upto 50mb )  and be assured of error free operation .

These are just a few ways , Nokia N900 helps me in my business , not to mention it looks good while carrying and gives me and company a tech savy look

( sorry no snaps , my Windows Live Writer is not responding so I ‘ve to post from the web Smile )
