Finally after much wait , I got my hands on a Nokia N900 , this time I bought it instead of waiting for Nokia Pakistan to give me one .
The price I got is Rs 58,000 but as I’ve written earlier it will fall in coming weeks .
My Nokia N900 is made in Finland , contrary to the earlier phones which were made in Korea and is the European model with European languages pre installed but the keyboard can be customized to Arabic and many other languages
The Unboxing
Nokia is carrying on with the Nokia N97 box design with the Nokia N900 , the Grey recycled material box with one internal flap and the phone Silhouette embossed on the top
The back is devoid of any detailed information or tag lines as is the Norm with E series and my N86 boxes except the mention of Arm Cortex Processor , 32 GB , WXGA 3.5 inch screen , 10/2 HSDPA and Maemo 5 along with some copyright information . With all the hype created around the phone , I don’t think Nokia would need any marketing / tag lines to sell it
The Sides are also black with the back having the Information Tag with IMEI and WLAN MAC Addresses mentioned
As the saying goes that “ it’s the inside beauty which matters” Nokia has kept the N900 under one more veil , the inside flap
Life it and there lies the Nokia N900 in all it’s glory
Nokia to further add to the mystery , instead of a clear plastic sticker / screen protector has put on a grey / black shaded sticker , although a bit transparent , it has to be removed to be used . My Advice , instead of this sticker , Nokia should have provided a durable screen protector , aesthetically it looks beautiful , in practicality it’s to be thrown away .
Under the phone are the standard accessories
A Micro USB Charger , Ca-101 Sync / Charger Cable , Headphones carried forward from E72 and N97 with separate ear bud covers , CA-148 c Micro USB to Nokia Mini Pin charger adapter , Nokia Instruction booklet and finally a Video Out Cable .
Except the phone there is nothing much to say about , I wish Nokia had also included a following
A Carrying Case and Cleaning Cloth like that in E72 and a screen protector but again it would have added to the cost .
Right now I’m busy playing with the phone and will post my hardware review later in the day and software reviews later in the week
If you have a N900 , do tell if you got anything extra .
