Nokia Party @ Barcelona – Back to the 50’s

Nokia knows how to party , in the Fifties , and never grew out of it , that’s what the scene at the Nokia Party at Mobile World Congress Barcelona .

The party featured the ‘hottest’ and most downloaded downloaded band frm Nokia OVI Music Store Finland - The Baseballs

Ok they must be big in Finland and are great Elvis impersonators and can sing good , but Nokia many of us have grown out of 50’s and are more into 70’s and 80’s give us Abba , give us Roxette if not Lady Gaga and Beyonce we can handle them but Baseballs please keep them in Finland .

The venue was a Factory converted into a club , a short distance away from Fiera Milano , after being taken to the wrong place by our bus driver , he took us to a college party thinking we the near middle age bunch are in for some college chicks , drenched in rain , we reach the place .

There was a huge line of gate crashers outside , but we had the passes so was immediately ushered inside . Inside the scene was different , great light show and sound , a woman killing Billy Jeans by great Micheal Jackson on stage followed by No Doubt’s Don’t Speak .

As we entered the club , we were handed over some colorful sprays , on asking they came out to be Vodka , Margerita and Tequila , which as I don’t drink , had to decline . The food was Veggie burgers , Ham Burgers , Pop Corn and Hot Dogs , again except Veggie Burger I can’t eat anything due to it being not Kosher / Halal and one bite of burger was enough for me to almost puke and I stayed with PopCorn and Cola for the night.

The Baseballs came with a huge applause and mostly older Nokians were swinging to their tune while the younger ones were sitting inside what seemed to be the Haze Room complete with a Caribbeanistic scenery on one side alas no joints were available to complete the scene

You must be wondering why I went there ? Well in last Nokia World party , Nokia gave out MD-5 Speakers as souvenirs and I went for them but this time well there was nothing

I don’t have any comments on the party , those who were enjoying , enjoyed it a lot , saw many people wasted on the floor , and those who didn’t discussed business in the Haze Room
