Pakistani Candies being Exported to Israel

by Farhan on April 20, 2010

Just bought this pack of Crazy Dips Blue Raspberry  Sherbert Dip Candy  for Rs 5/- ( (USD 0.06) from my the shop under my Mosque .  I was there to buy some bread and the Assyrian /  Hebrew script caught my attention  .

Now Pakistan does not recognize Israel ,it’s clearly written on our passports , for every country of the world except Israel  ,  so I though it must be something made in Palestine or Lebanon or some state around Israel as Arabic is also written on it .

My curiosity got me and I started looking for the ‘Made in ___ ‘  note but it was no where but a work in Arabic which looked like Pakistan caught my attention , a closer look and the candy is made by  Gujranwala Food Industries -  Gujranwala Pakistan and they are selling it to some company in Atlanta -  Georgia for Israel ,

Now that’s what I call globalization  , exporting to a country where we are not allowed to through another state and selling the surplus in the country , where the name Israel is enough to start a riot and the irony it’s being sold under the mosque , I hope tomorrow the shop keeper survives .

Check out the pix below while I enjoy my Crazy Dip
