Nokia Conversations has provided a platform to ask questions from those of us not able to attend Nokia World ‘09 at http://conversations.nokia.com/2009/08/20/suggest-questions-for-nokia-world-09/ from
- Christof Hellmis (VP Product, People and Places)
- Eric John (Director, Ovi Store)
- Juha Kokkonen (Director, Explore, discover)
- Jo Harlow (VP, Category Management, Live)
- Liz Schimel (VP, Music)
- Janne Heikkinen (Director, Product Mgmt, Maemo)
- Mark Ollila (Director, Technology and Strategy, Games)
- Jonne Harju (Design)
and here is what I’ve asked them
“ Sir I’m a blogger from Pakistan and an avid Nokia Enthusiast got a couple of questions .
@ Christof Hellmis (VP Product, People and Places) & @ Juha Kokkonen (Director, Explore, discover)
- Nokia’s Friend View and OVI Contacts will they be combined so I can see where my friends are and also chat with them ?
- Nokia has launched maps for all over the world but still lacks Pakistan , I’m currently using Garmin XT combined with maps made my Pakistani Freelancers , do Nokia plan to add Pakistan street mapping in OVI Maps ?
- Proximity Sensors via Phone location , when can we see a realtime application for them such as a Widget on N97 homescreen informing me if my friend / contact comes within a particular distance or even visit my city .
@ Eric John (Director, Ovi Store)
- Sir , I find Ovi Store to be bothersome , why don’t you go for OS dependent offering like S60v3 S60v5 Fp1 , Fp2 etc instead of Device dependent , a good example will be Nokia Ramadan Apps available for E66 but not for award winning E71
@ Liz Schimel (VP, Music) –
- You have launched Nokia Music Store India – it’s still in pilot stage but what will be the competitive pricing in a country where a MP3 Cd can be bought having 100’s of songs for a few dollars – is Comes with Music a possibility – Mr Olli Pekka said so , is it also being planned for Pakistan with our local groups .
@ Janne Heikkinen (Director, Product Mgmt, Maemo) –
- Loved the N900 , Loved the OS outlook but when to expect it and what about Application availibiity , iPhone became popular beacuse of it’s Apps what do you have in store for Maemo
@ Mark Ollila (Director, Technology and Strategy, Games) :
Are you planning to combine X-Box gaming with Nokia phones given MS / Nokia Alliance ” is much more than Office ” , any news of adding Project Natal type experience to the phone
@ Jonne Harju (Design) –
Nokia had been doing a great job in the design dept of upcoming phones any thoughts about using the Aeon featured in Echelon Conspiracy and what about the phone featured in Star Wars , any bits and crumbs on that
