Symbian Series 40 had always been considered a poor man’s Smartphone for which only Java based applications were available , with the passage of time , S40 also grew along with S60 as a mature OS and been featured in mid tier phones was the preferred OS for the masses .
Realizing it’s mass market potential , Nokia didn’t slouched on launching Apps for S40 and the OS which was previously compatible with wap.getjar.com , now got it’s own OVI Store application featuring a few startup applications which although small in number greatly enhances the productivity of the phone .
Currently , the following Apps are available for Free on OVI Store for S40 ( checked on Nokia 6700 Classic Phone )

- Locify
- Papaya
- Mo-call s40
Don’t be disheartened with such a small number of Apps , there are more in development and many are available outside OVI Store realm like Opera 5 Beta for browsing and Twibble for Twitter .
