Beat this Google and iPhone , Nokia has launched OVI Maps Racing , the First location based game , where I can race and create a track of my street on my phone and race around my house and familiar streets , the catch it’s only playable with custom maps  in Europe

Developed by RedLynx , and available for Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition and N97 Mini the game use the actual map data from NAVTEQ and phone GPS to allow player to make their own map  . For those living outside Europe can make their own course or use one of the 20 pre defined tracks in select European cities of Berlin , Amsterdam and London  , damn I would have loved to race in Shaheed Millar Road to Shahra-e-Faisal Karachi but

“We had a chance to create a completely new type of mobile game with Nokia, which utilizes real life maps” says Tero Virtala, CEO of RedLynx. “As with previous titles developed for Nokia, Ovi Maps Racing has really allowed us to augment our knowledge pool.”

OVI Map Racing had been shortlisted as a nominee for Excellence in Game Play by The International Mobile Gaming Awards (IMGA) , the winner of which is to announced at Mobile World Congress Barcelona .

Our Thoughts

From the looks of it , I loved the game and hopefully my mum will let me use her phone for a couple of hours so I can play this game
