If you woke up today with your phone’s ringtone blaring and activate your iPhone warning on your already activated iPhone 5′s screen , fear not , I haven’t deleted all the activattions by mistake

If you haven’t updated to the latest release of iOS5 beta 7 and still on Beta 3 or 4 ( can’t recalls which one my phone was on )  , it is a nasty reminder from Apple to upgrade.

• Just download the iOS5 Beta 7 for your appropriate device from IMZDL
• Extract the DMG onto your desktop
• Connect your iOS5  device to computer
• On iTunes click Restore with Alt/option key pressed while on MAC or Shift Key pressed on Windows and choose the extracted file and wait for the phone to restore.

Kindly remember only Restore option will work , although iTunes will tell you that your software has expired but it will not upgrade it.

You will need a WiFi network to reactivate your device with Apple servers,  you may loose all your data so have a iTunes or iCloud backup handy (  I didn’t have iTunes backup so iCloud’s 2 day old backup came in handy )

For those who rely on Jail Break for one reason or another ,  get latest version of RedSn0W for Win from Here and for Mac from here , the procedure is very simple just follow the instructions.

Also iOS5 beta 8  is due tomorrow so don’t forget to upgrade

It may be around , but yesterday I was able to unlock and Jailbreak a friend’s iPhone 3GS  running latest iOS 4.2.12 with baseband 5.15.04

The procedure was very simple

1)  upgrade Firmware to iOS 4.2.1 through iTunes

2) Download Green Pois0n Rc 6

3)  Run Green Pois0n while the iphone is connected to computer and follow all instructions -  Jail breaking may take upto 5 min and at times it will seam that nothing is happening , just show some patience here

4) When Jailbroken , connect your iPhone to WiFI and run Loader ( on 2nd screen )  and install Cydia

5) in Cydia go to Sources click Edit , Click Add and put in repo666.ultrasn0w.com as a source and install Ultra Snow from it

6)  Congratulations your iPhone 3GS is now Jail Broken

It took me 2 hours to figure everything out but total procedure time was only 10 min .

10 Billion ,  now that’s a milestone ,   it’s like everyone in the world has downloaded approx. 1.5 app off Apple Store and that too on only a handful of models comprising of iPhones , iPod and iPads . That’s an achievement which many App Store opertors dream about , forget how many paid or free apps were sold , 10 Billion is a big number to achieve and Apple has proved that it could be done

To commemorate this achievement , Apple is giving away a $10,000 iTunes Gift Card on the 10 billionth download so keep the counter in view a the numbers are flying fast at amost 1000 apps per second , at the current rate expect within 60.8 hours or  2.5 days from today 15th Jan 2011 , Apple store will hit 10 Billion downloads , for now it stands at 9.781450000 Billion downloads

Apple knows how to market a product , yesterday their home age was announcing the launch of something unforgettable on iTunes with different clocks showing the time around the world it will be revealed  and today when the veil was raised it was the Beatles .

All 13 albums of Beatles are now available on iTunes , you can go for $1.29 per song , 12.99 per album or just pay up $149.00 for the whole set with videos and all .

Are you excited ? well for Apple , kudos to you not on the Beatles but making us wait and revealing what may not mean much for many , now that’s what I call marketing

When one listen to iTunes what’s the first thing which comes to mind , Apple ,  iPod , Music and a load of applications for iPhone and iPod Touch .  Never anyone associated iTunes with education neither did I until today when while browsing on the web I stumbled upon iTunes University covering lectures in both Audio and Video Format from the likes of Carnegie Mellon , Cambridge ,  Oxford , Duke , Stanford , MIT and my Alma Mater University of Michigan , more than 150 university courses and lectures are covered .

The courses offered are also not limited to a few from Social Sciences to Life Sciences , Business to Economics , Medicine to Music , every topic under the sun is covered with over 200,000 educational audio and video files available your requirements will be met

The lectures are not limited to boring talk , multimedia content like Adveritisng from the 60’s is also available 

For those not having iPhone or iPod , don’t worry all you need is an iTunes account ( Credit Card necessary )  , search for iTunes University , Download content and you are all set , just go to My Documents–  My Music — iTunes —iTunes Music — iTunes U and in the respective folders you’ll find all your media which can me copied and played on any Mp3 Music player . 

So who is in for some learning , I am and already have a GB worth of downloads set for my iPhone , which now I consider the best investment I ever made
