Apple updates OSX Lion for iCloud

Apple has just released a two part update for OSX Lion , one for Lion Recovery and other to update OSX to 10.7.2 preparing it for iCloud access. The total download size is around 880Mb and given that everyone with a Mac is trying to update their machine, on my high speed line it’s taking 2 hours where it should take only 45 min . Updating is easy just click on the Apple icon on the top left of your screen and select Software Update from the list.

Mac OS X Lion – Security Update is available

Apple has just released a security update 2011-005 for OSX Lion , it’s a small update of 188KB and according to Apple the affected product are Mac OS X Server 10.6, Mac OS X 10.4, Mac OS X Server 10.4, Mac OS X 10.6, Mac OS X Server 10.5, Mac OS X 10.5, OS X Lion, Product Security, AirPort, Apple TV, iPhone, iPhoto, iPod touch, iTunes, QuickTime 7, Safari.

Which security issue the update covers , in Apple’s own words ” For the protection of our customers, Apple does not disclose, discuss or confirm security issues until a full investigation has occurred and any necessary patches or releases are available.”

Apple has today released update for their available for Public OSX 10.6.7 upgrading it to 10.6.8 making it ready for OSX Lion Upgrade

Mac OS X v10.6.8 also includes fixes provided in the Mac OS X v10.6.7 Snow Leopard Font Update:

Addresses an issue in which some OpenType fonts don’t display correctly in certain applications.
Resolves issues printing from Preview.
Addresses an issue with PDF files not opening in third-party PDF viewing applications.
Resolves invalid font errors when printing to PostScript printers.

It’s a 478 mb Update and also includes restarting your Mac from start .
